on July 1, 2014This is a really helpful visualization of what Internet Governance really looks like in the world, considering all actors and stakeholders. I love it. I'm a visual person myself, in that I understand pictures so much better than words and this picture nails it. The way I see it, Internet Governance is clustered with no real links between the actors & stakeholders, i.e. governments, academia etc. They only make their demands to overruling but not governing international organizations like ICANN & ITU. These bodies scramble for authority in the background, unbeknownst to the masses. The 'waiters' in the picture are the liaison organizations like ISOC, Diplo & MAG. Given the multistakeholder nature of the Internet, they don't have enough veto power to manage affairs in between the 'guests'. What's needed is much more interaction & collaboration between the 'guests' and cooperation & order among the 'chefs' in the 'kitchen'. There's a lot of work to be done in Internet Governance if the Internet is to remain a commodity for all. Awesome picture! I tweeted it to my followers. :)
Best regards
